The Gondo wet mill, operated by the New Kiriti Farmers Cooperative Society, is located in the Mathioya District and comprised of 560 members. Farmers selectively hand pick and deliver their cherry to the wet mill on the same day. The cherries are then sorted and washed using water from the nearby Gondo river. They are then carefully fermented, sun-dried and washed again before delivery to the dry mill. We were particularly impressed with the intense sweetness of this lot from the 15 week outturn of the mill. Ripe blackberries really burst out of the cup as well as blood orange and vanilla. Some floral notes are also present in the flavor and aroma. One of our favorite coffees to sip on at the moment, it has the all complexity and sparking acidity we look for in a superstar Kenyan. Highly recommended as filter or ice-drip.
